Good afternoon,

I am writing to request support for an upcoming benefit- Fight Like Colin. In May of this year, a friend, a community member, a father, and a colleague Colin Powel was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer at the age of 31. Colin is a Father to 3 year old Jackson, and also serves the community as a Racine Police Officer where he is unable to work at this time due to treatment. Colin is a house officer at our Villa street COP house where he works within the neighborhood with families and within the high school as well.

On Sunday September 8, I will be hosting a benefit at Scores Sports Bar and Grill. This benefit is part of our continued efforts to show our support, help with the overwhelming challenges of medical expenses, day-to-day essentials and other accommodations during this time. We will be having a silent auction and are relying on generous donors from our valued community partners and businesses for in-kind donations which we believe will make a significant impact on the funds we are working hard to raise.

We appreciate your consideration of our request and welcome the opportunity to discuss this further with you! If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me at. I will provide contact info for myself and Colin’s close friend and colleague who is also helping with benefit efforts.
